Stand up an actor

Hire a Staff actor onto a runner you own and invoke it once

You finish this when a hired actor has completed one invoke. Selling that actor to another organization is a later, different hire.

1. Check the prerequisites

Prerequisites covers the org, the seat, and the runner the session will land on. Do not start the wizard until those exist.

2. Hire

Hire an actor walks the wizard. Hire creates the actor and its agent config. The config is the model, the instructions, the skills, and the MCP servers it may call.

3. Put the session on your runner

The session runs on a runner group in your cloud, and that group has to be allowed to host agents. Runner groups is the rule. The kind of machine is the runner catalog, which links out to each backend.

4. Invoke it once

The hire page ends at the first invoke. Use that, and read the result in the Staff console. If the work is a repository change, continue with Run a ticket. If the work is a conversation with your users, continue with Actors in chat.

5. Hire someone else's actor

Hire an actor on the Exchange is a contract with another organization. It is not the wizard above. List your own from List an actor after the one you hired has run.
