Channels
TL;DR
Each channel page opens with the channel as the public sees it: banner, picture, name and description. Edit changes what the network's own API allows. When a network does not let apps change something, the page shows it and links to the right place.
What you can change from the studio
| Network | Picture | Banner / cover | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| YouTube | In YouTube Studio (no API) | ✓ from Files | ✓ | ✓ plus keywords and country |
| Facebook Page | ✓ from Files | ✓ cover photo, from Files | On Facebook (Meta reviews renames) | ✓ about, description and website |
| In the Instagram app | n/a | In the Instagram app | Bio in the Instagram app | |
| On LinkedIn | On LinkedIn | On LinkedIn | On LinkedIn |
Instagram and LinkedIn do not let apps change a profile. A LinkedIn company page could be edited once LinkedIn grants page-admin access to Orkestia; until then the page links you to LinkedIn's own editor.
Edit your YouTube channel
- Open Channels → YouTube.
- Click Edit profile.
- Change the channel name, description (up to 1000 characters), keywords (space separated; quote multi-word ones) or country (two letters, like
BR). - For a new banner, choose an image from Files: JPEG or PNG, at least 2048×1152, up to 6 MB. Leave it empty to keep the current banner.
- Save. The studio shows exactly what will change. Click Yes, update YouTube.
For the picture, Picture in YouTube Studio opens your channel's profile editor. Workflows: youtube.channel.branding.update, data.youtube.channel.branding.get.
Edit your Facebook Page
- Open Channels → Instagram & Facebook. Each Facebook Page has its own card.
- Click Edit Page.
- Choose a new profile picture (square JPEG or PNG, up to 4 MB) or cover photo (about 1640×624, up to 10 MB) from Files, and change about (up to 255 characters), description or website.
- Save, then Yes, update Facebook.
Workflows: meta.page.profile.update, data.meta.page.profile.get.
Who can change a channel
A person changes a channel after confirming in the studio. A Staff agent goes through review: the same change needs an approved review before it is applied.
